A Time Honored Steamboat Tradition

Blogcarnival

This year marks the 105th year of Steamboat’s Winter Carnival!

What started in 1914 as a way to relieve stress from long, cold winters, the Winter Carnival has become a can’t miss week filled with a variety of Alpine skiing, Nordic, freestyle, snowboarding and other unique events.

In true Steamboat fashion, this is very much a community event bringing together the entire town. Each year hundreds of locals volunteer their time, talents, and even their horses to take part in the events.
