Summer is in full swing as is Steamboat’s jam-packed event calendar!

Summertime is an exciting time to be in Steamboat Springs. Each week is filled with all sorts of events from free concerts, to athletic races, to festivals, and so much more. No matter what brings you to town, you’re sure to find something for the whole family to enjoy.


Can’t Miss Events:

115th Cowboys’ Roundup Days:
June 30th through July 4th

Throughout the year, Steamboat hosts events that showcase our Western heritage and the 115th Cowboys’ Roundup Days celebration for the Fourth of July is no exception.  Ski jumping competitions, a Western music showcase, and a Pioneer Day block party are just a few of the events that make this time so much fun.

Fourth of July Parade:
Wednesday July 4th
10:00am Downtown Lincoln

Be sure to head downtown to Lincoln Ave early on the morning of July 4th to find the best seats for this highly anticipated event. Beginning at 10am, the parade theme this year is “Red, White, and Gold: Celebrating Our Olympians”.

 Pioneer Day Block Party & Community Concert:
Wednesday July 4th
11:00am to 1:00pm on 8th and Oak St.

Each year the Tread of the Pioneers Museum hosts the Pioneer Day Block Party and Community Concert. A family friendly event complete with live music, kids’ activities, free hot dogs, and the famous Routt Beer Floats brings everyone together in celebration of Steamboat’s pioneer history.

 Hot Air Balloon Rodeo:
July 14th & 15th  

This year marks the 37th annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo! For all you early risers, head to Bald Eagle Lake beginning at 6:00am as the pilots begin filling up their balloons. Then watch as the pilots partake in a series of rodeo style competitions like nothing you have ever seen before. This unique and awe-inspiring event is just a short a shuttle ride from The Porches.

On the night of the 14th, the balloons are staged in Gondola Square where you can walk amongst their warm glow as they light up the night sky.

 Art in the Park:
July 14th & 15th
Beginning at 9:00 in West Lincoln Park

 This fantastic event has brought together artists and entertainers for 44 years. Featuring over 150 artists, live entertainment, food and beverage vendors, and a kids’ interactive area, this event brings color and creativity to downtown Steamboat.

A Few Weekly Summer Events

Pro Rodeo Series:
Beginning at 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday nights through August 11th the Steamboat Pro Rodeo Series allows visitors and locals alike to experience a true rodeo. Bull riding and bronco riding, roping, steer wrestling, and barrel racing are just a few of the events put on each week.

 Movies on the Mountain:
On Saturday nights through September 1st, take the family to Gondola Square to experience a movie under the stars. Each week a different movie will be shown including such hits as Wonder Woman, Despicable Me 3, and Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom.

 Sunset Happy Hour:
On Sunday and Thursday evenings take a ride up the Gondola on Mt. Werner to enjoy live music and happy hour atop the mountain. As the sun begins to set, head to the deck of the Thunderhead Building to catch incredible views of the Yampa Valley from the Flattops to the Sleeping Giant.
