OktoberWest comes to Steamboat for a unique blend of tradition and mountain style.
Colorado is home to over 200 established breweries including some of the top-ranking ones in the U.S including; New Belgium, Odell, Great Divide, Left Hand, and more. As a state that appreciates a craft beer created by local artisans it’s no surprise that Steamboat is now home to 4 local craft breweries.

Steamboat’s Local Breweries
Mahogany Ridge Brewery & Grill
435 S. Lincoln Ave
Established in 2003, Mahogany is the longest running brewery in Steamboat. Featuring award winning craft brews, Mahogany is equally acclaimed for their incredible happy hour and remarkable food. Our favorites include: the $1 tapas featured on their evening happy hour menu, the tuna ceviche, and the twisted pretzel (don’t forget to add the cheese and porter cream). Their wonderful dining atmosphere makes this brewery a place that the entire family can enjoy.
Mountain Tap Brewery
910 Yampa St.
The owners of Mountain Tap brewery have spent years perfecting their brewing techniques in both Denver, CO and Hawaii. In 2011, they returned to Steamboat with more than two decades of brewing experience and a dream to open their own establishment. In the summer of 2016, this dream finally came true when Mountain Tap opened their doors. Using just 4 ingredients as their base recipe Mountain Tap features 12 distinctly different beers each worth sampling
Known not just for their beers, this brewery/eatery also has incredible food. We highly recommend the margherita pizza, training wheels, and campfire s’more.
Storm Peak Brewing Co.
1885 Elk River Plaza
Self proclaimed beer freaks, music lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts, the owners of Storm Peak set out to create a wide variety of beers with something for everyone. Focusing on quality and creativity, they’ve been able to cultivate an impressive menu of craft beers. While this menu changes frequently and features some small batch brews, they’re sure to have the local favorites on tap.
Not just a brewery, Storm Peak also hosts yoga, potlucks, ski pole building, luaus, and other fun events throughout the year. While they don’t serve food they do encourage you to bring your own or order in from one of our local restaurants. You’ll also find their more popular brews in your local Colorado liquor store.
Butcherknife Brewing Company
2875 Elk River Road
Born in Steamboat Springs, Butcherknife Brewery was created out of a passion for quality craft beer with a commitment to sustainability. As an avid outdoorsman, the founder of Butcherknife was determined to create a brewery that would deliver delicious beers but also repurpose waste to give back to the community.
Located just North of town, the Butcherknife tap room offers a laidback atmosphere with community style tables where patrons can enjoy their beers while catching up with friends or play one of their assorted board and card games. You can also find three of their award winning beers in local liquor stores across the state.
Yampa Valley Brewing Company
106 E. Jefferson, Hayden, CO. (25 minutes west of Steamboat)
The owners of Yampa Valley Brewing Company came to the Yampa Valley in 2011 with a dream to open a brewery. With the drive and passion to do so, they soon opened Yampa Valley Brewing in Hayden, Colorado, just two miles from the Yampa Valley Regional Airport.
This August is the start of Movie Night at the brewery so if you find yourself in Hayden be sure to stop in to sample their beer and catch a flick. As of this summer, you can find several of their beers in liquor stores across Colorado.
