Steamboat’s plethora of weekly events bring the whole family together…
With warm summer days comes a plethora of summer events, but no matter when you are in Steamboat, there is always something to do. Ride down the bike path, watch surfers take on Charlie’s Hole, or simply relax by The Porches pool for an afternoon. Whether you are an adventurer or more of a lazy-Sunday-morning type, there is no better place to spend your summer than in Steamboat Springs.
Our Favorite Weekly Events:
Yoga in the Park:
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Hosted at the Yampa River Botanic Park, there is not a more beautiful place for a morning yoga practice. Soak in the wonder of nature surrounded by spectacular gardens and a serene pond. Donations are encouraged to keep this wonderful event going.
Music on the Green:
Thursday
Bring a lunch, a blanket, and some company to go lie out on the green at the Yampa River Botanic Park for live music. Started in 1999, this event partners with the Strings Music Festival to bring world class performers to the park.
Hikes with Yampatika:
Nearly Everyday
Join Yampatika naturalists for a variety of hikes this summer ranging from moderate to more difficult. From Fish Creek Falls to the Uranium Mine to the Flat Tops, Yampatika’s wide variety of educational hikes ensures there is something for everyone.
Movies on the Mountain
Saturday
One of the greatest traditions of the summer! Spread out under the stars in Gondola Square to watch the latest family-friendly flicks to hit the big screens. Below is a sneak peak of the ones to come this summer. For a full list of films, ask The Porches concierge.
June 29: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
July 6: Smallfoot
July 13: Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom
July 20: Ralph Breaks the Internet
Free Summer Concerts:
Friday & Saturday
Keepin’ It Free Summer Concert Series has been hosting free concerts at Howelsen Hill in Steamboat since 1993. Bringing artists from around the world, these concerts always draw a huge crowd! Families pack dinner, lay down a blanket, and let the kids get their groove on. Steamboat Mountain Free Summer Concerts also host concerts in Gondola Square throughout the summer.
Farmer’s Market:
Saturday
Located downtown on 7th & Yampa St., the Steamboat Farmer’s Market is a wonderful Saturday tradition. Locals and visitors alike drive, bike, or stroll to peruse vendors selling art, clothing, breads, jams, spices, meats, cheeses and more. Our recommendation… be sure to get to the crepe stand before they sell out!
