The first snow has fallen and winter is nearly upon us…

Just a few weeks after the Yampa Valley was blanketed in various shades of orange and yellow, Steamboat had our first snowfall of the season! With the ski resort opening in just a few short weeks, early snowfall has filled the town of Steamboat with an air of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season. While we anxiously anticipate the start of the ski season, there are plenty of fun events going on in town.

9th Annual Arts & Craft Fair

November 2nd

For almost a decade, the Yampa Valley Regional Airport has been hosting an arts and crafts fair featuring over 40 local vendors! Shop local and start your holiday shopping early all in one place.

Friends of the Yampa Big Snow Bash

November 9th

Join Friends of the Yampa for their annual Big Snow Bash and Silent Auction! A fun-filled evening featuring live music from Buffalo Commons, door prizes, and more. Admission is just $10 at the door and includes a ticket for door prizes. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Yampa and their programs.

Festival of Trees

November 16th through the 25th

Head into the Tread of the Pioneers Museum for the 25th Annual Festival of Trees featuring 25 impeccably decorated trees on display. Each themed tree is decorated by local organizations, businesses and individuals.

Opening Day!

November 23rd

This year, Steamboat Ski Resort will open on November 23rd! It’s customary for opening day to be before Thanksgiving, but this year Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp decided to open a few days early. May the snow dance for early season powder begin.

Pioneer Christmas Storytime and Crafts

November 25th

A wonderful, free, local event, the Pioneer Christmas Storytime and Crafts, hosted by the Tread of the Pioneer Museum is a favorite for kids of all ages. Kids will hear about holiday traditions and stories from the past as well as craft a Victorian era craft to take home.
