This winter has gotten off to a great start with over 130 inches of snow so far this season, nearly half way to our average season total. Our legendary powder skiing and the Ikon pass have continued to drive more people to our humble Western town, something that has allowed us to share our passion for Steamboat and all that it has to offer.
Unlike many other resort towns in Colorado, Steamboat is a true destination, away from the bustle of the I-70 corridor. Coming over Rabbit Ears Pass and descending into the Yampa Valley it is hard not to be filled with a sense of wonder. The community of people that calls Steamboat home share in the delights that living here bring and the opportunities to get outdoors are endless. Aside from world class skiing, there is a plethora of adventure to be had just outside our doors; horseback riding, sleigh rides, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, tubing, and the Strawberry Park hot springs.
We sure are fortunate to call the Yampa Valley home and even more fortunate to be able to offer the experience of a lifetime to each person that walks through The Porches front door. As we look back on the past year, we cannot help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for our Porches community. From the staff that has become a family to our owners that feel more like long lost friends. We are so happy to be surrounded by a group of people that shares the same love affair with this wonderful place that we get to call home.
As this year draws to a close each of us is filled with excitement and anticipation for what the coming year will bring. We are looking forward to all the new folk that we will get to welcome into The Porches community and share the Steamboat experience with.
Wishing you and your families a wonderful holiday season and very Happy New Year.
