The summer fun continues in Steamboat…
As the kids get ready to head back to school there is still plenty of summer fun to be had in Steamboat! With several wonderful weekly events and Steamboat traditions there is something for the entire family to enjoy.
Can’t Miss Events:
Alpenglow Happy Hour:
August 1st thru the 29th
A wonderful way to spend a summer evening, weekly through the month of August head to Gondola square for Alpenglow Happy Hour. Grab a drink and sit along the creek to listen to live music and soak in the last hours of sunshine.
Piknik Theatre:
August 1st thru the 8th
Sunday through Thursday evenings make your way to the Bud Werner Library or Yampa River Botanic Park for spectacular performances. Shows will alternate between Shakespeare’s The Tempest and musical comedy, The Fairy Tale Princess. Blankets, chairs, snacks, and beverages are encouraged.
Yoga in the Park
August 1st thru the 31st
A local favorite, Yoga in the Park set in the stunning Yampa River Botanic Park will allow you to enjoy the great outdoors while getting in a great stretch. Bring your own mat, a towel, and a bottle of water.
SUP Yoga at Pearl Lake:
August 3rd thru the 31st
Take a scenic drive to Pearl Lake, a still and serene lake located in North Routt for a SUP yoga class. You can either bring your own board or rent one when you get there, don’t forget to sign up in advance.
Tour the Historic Mesa Schoolhouse
August 7th
Travel back in time to the days of early Routt County at the Historic Mesa Schoolhouse. The Tread of Pioneers Museum in partnership with Historic Routt County will lead visitors through a day in the life of teachers and students in the one-room schoolhouse.
Routt County Fair
August 17th
Get a taste of agriculture in the Yampa Valley at the Routt County Fair. Spend the day perusing the junior 4-H show followed by a BBQ and proper Country Fair Barn Dance.
Hangar Party
August 17th
A rip-roaring charity event, the Yampa Valley Medical Center Foundation presents the Hangar Party. This 1940’s themed party set in the Steamboat Springs Airport will feature appetizer, beer, wine, martini bar, and live music. All proceeds benefit the Emergency Department, costumes are encouraged.
Rubber Ducky Race
August 25th
Another favorite community event, the annual Rubber Ducky race raises money for Northwest Colorado Health Hospice. Thousands of rubber ducks are released down the water slides at the Old Town Hot Springs. Ticket holders with the winning ducks will win cash prices!
