The fun continues in Steamboat this summer season…
What a wonderful summer season we have had in Steamboat this far! We could not be more fortunate to call the Yampa Valley home. While things have been a little different than years past, our community has really come together to create fun and exciting events for the whole family to enjoy.
Can’t Miss Events:
Playing with Wildfire Guided Hike
August 1st
This guided hike brought to you by Yampatika, is a wonderful education experience to learn about wildfires and their ever growing presence in our ecosystem. Registration is required in advance and we recommend bringing plenty of water and a few layers, you never know when the weather might change.
Farmer’s Market
Every Saturday
The Steamboat Farmer’s Market is a local’s favorite and for a good reason! Take a stroll down the aisles laden with local produce, meats, cheeses, and artisan gifts. Be sure to stop by the food truck area for lunch before you leave! Make sure to bring your mask.
Yoga on the Green
Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays
Meet at the Botanic Park at 9am for a morning yoga flow led by a local instructor! This is the perfect way to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty around you. While this event is free, donations are encouraged to support the park.
Glow in the Park
August 2nd
On the night of the full moon, participants gather in the Yampa River Botanic Park to decorate paper lanterns with well wishes to be sailed across Peter’s Pond.
Agricultural History Talks
August 3rd
Located just up the road from The Porches, take a walk up to the historic More and Arnold Barns for a free agricultural talk led by the Tread of Pioneers Museum. Space is limited and is first come first serve so be sure to arrive early.
Wildflowers Wander Guided Hike
Mondays in August
These free guided hikes, put on by Yampatika, are an excellent opportunity to get exercise while amongst the wildflowers of the Yampa Valley.
First Friday Artwalk
August 7th
First Friday Artwalk returns! Spend an evening strolling through participating art galleries and museums to peruse art of all mediums.
Hot Air Balloon Festival
August 29th & 30th
One of Steamboat’s favorite events is back, this time just a little later in the summer. The best part about this event is you and your family can venture down to Bald Eagle Lake to watch the launch, or find a nice spot to post up for the morning and watch the hot air balloons soar over the Yampa Valley.
