Snowboarders can make the pilgrimage to the Mavericks Superpipe, and everyone can enjoy the thrill of night skiing. Experience Steamboat’s famous Champagne Powder for yourself; it’s truly an experience that every skier should have.

Hot Springs

There is nothing that compares to sitting in a natural hot springs with 104-degree water to soak your body. Your body will be submerged in hot water while the air is cold in the winter or temperate in the summer. It’s a great way to unwind after a day enjoying your active lifestyle of skiing, fly fishing, hiking, or mountain biking around Steamboat. Strawberry Park Hot Spring is one of the most well-known springs in the area and is a natural pool, and the also offer massage in a massage hut or, watsu therapy in a private pool. The hot springs are accessible via a nat. In the summer you’ll be treated to mountain flowers and birds including hummingbirds while you indulge in the relaxing waters. It is family friendly during the day and adults only at night and is not to be missed on your trips to Steamboat Springs

Mountain Biking

Regardless of your experience level, there is a trail that will challenge you in Steamboat! The Steamboat Bike Park alone has over fifty miles of downhill and freeride bike trails. All over Routt County, you’ll find opportunities to shred. Mountain Biking takes the spotlight during Bike week, a week in June that focuses annually on all things mountain biking including clinics, rental discounts, guided rides and many other activities.

Wildlife

Colorado is teaming with wildlife and seeing it in all its abundance is truly one of the great joys of living here. It is not out of the ordinary to see deer, elk, bear, skunks, and snakes. There are also mountain lions in the county, so that is something to keep in mind during your backwoods activities. Some of the less frequently seen species to keep an eye out for include the Yellow Billed Cuckoo, the Canada Lynx, the Greenback cutthroat trout, the Razorback sucker, the humpback chub, and the Colorado pikeminnow. Another interesting fact is that the greater sage grouse and the Columbian Sharp-tailed Grouse have habitat improvement plans in action.
