Combining Steamboat’s Western heritage and love of skiing into a week-long event

A Steamboat tradition for over 100 years, the Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival brings the community together for thrilling events that pay homage to our unique history.

Nowhere in the world will you find an event quite like this, and that is in large part because there is nowhere quite like Steamboat. It’s no wonder our Winter Carnival was listed as one of the Top Ten Winter Carnivals in the World by National Geographic. This year is even more special as our resident firework builder, Tim Borden, launches the largest firework ever in North America, weighing in at 2,400 pounds!

The Winter Carnival draws some big crowds and that’s where The Porches shuttle comes in handy. Our drivers will pick you and your family up from your Porches home and take you to each and every event. Sara, our concierge, has the inside scoop on all the events and will help you navigate your Winter Carnival experience to ensure you have a wonderful time and see all the highlights.

Events begin on February 6th and continue through the 10th, we’ve highlighted a few of our favorite events below.
